Today Jon decided to celebrate my birthday. Since my actual birthday is on Sunday, he wanted to do something fun. He came over this morning and surprised me with my birthday present. It was a new set of scriptures! A mini quad that is blue with silver pages. It is absolutely beautiful. And my favorite part is that my name is engraved in the front... my
new name:
He wanted to get me a gift that was special and meaningful of our new life together. To quote his card, "a new phase of our lives." Which is so sweet and wonderful of him. It is especially meaningful to me because I am going to be going through the temple soon and it will be so great to have a new, fresh set of scriptures to mark after having received my endowments. I love Jon so much and this gift is even more representative of the wonderful marriage we will have that will always be centered in Christ and the Gospel. I am so excited for us, and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful man.
After he gave me my gift we raced off to Salt Lake to go to the zoo! It was soooo much fun!! My favorite animals were the giraffes and the monkeys. The elephants and tigers were cool too.

After we went to the zoo we went to a cute little french cafe called Les Madeleine's. We ate a delicious caprese sandwich with pommes frites. YUM! Then for dessert, we had a macaroon and pain du chocolat. It was absolutely delicious! J'aime la nurriture de la France (et j'aime mon fiance, Jon). It was a perfect birthday! Jon is so wonderful to me :)
